Keeping Up With the Joneses

Our yard looks pretty sad compared to our neighbor's across the street. But I'm OK with that.

Because if I saw Shaun laying flat on his back underneath our Japanese maple and trimming it for two hours with what appeared to be a pair of manicure scissors, I would worry.

And if I saw him get out the Shop-Vac and and start vacuuming the shrubs? Well, come on, people. Priorities.

Hilarious. Is that how Camas stays so quaint?

Jeff, that and the hired crews. Everyone except us (and our next-door neighbor on one side) seems to have at least one lawn guy.

The people across from us are that meticulous. Last summer our sprinkler system broke and we didn't bother to water our lawn for three months - so you had us on one side of the street with prickly brown grass and them on the other side, with a perfectly manicured "estate". Awkward.

Sara, check back with us at the end of the summer--our yard offenses will very likely progress from shaggy shrubs to crunchy grass :)Awkward, indeed!

I guess you probably heard about Rick's friend who used a shop vac for the leaves on his rocks? That got a few chuckles around the family. But - guess it did the job.

Great link! I will never look at a lawn the same way again :)
