January is FUN!

Uninteresting non-sequiter: this photo reminds me that when I was little and visiting my grandmother in Las Vegas, I got confused by Kentucky Fried Chicken's slogan "Finger lickin' good." I would ask for "the chicken in the box with the fingers in it." Yum!

If any of you out there think that you have/had the world's cutest baby, you are mistaken. This sassy little bundle holds the title.

Fortunately Willem thought it was funny when Nels decided to sit on his lap.

Spanish apple fritters!

Good times.

(Many thanks to Amanda for taking the great photos of the Good Times. It's always a shame when the most photogenic person in the room is also the best photographer.)

I cannot describe the jealousy that wells up within me at the sight of those apple fritters! Your life looks like so much fun...dinner parties, silly boys, pictures, babies. The most romantic thing that's happened to me this week was being serenaded with "let's fall in love" by the bus driver over the loudspeaker.

Wow, you actually used that etch-a-sketch pen! And what better purpose than to make fun of my brother. =) I am requesting that you make those apple fritters when we meet again. Pretty please? And that first picture of the boys--priceless.

Ah, Hillary, we only have THAT much fun about once a year.

Being serenaded by a bus driver is nothing to sneeze at.

Kim, I have to admit that Andrew was the one skilled enough to employ the miniature etch-a-sketch so deftly. The results, however, were enjoyed by all.

... and the boys in the box look like they're ready to just pop in the mail for a quick visit down here... ah - wishful thinking.... if it were only that easy. Your blog is certainly the next best thing - thanks for the smiles and grins.

What makes a Spanish Apple Fritter? Did you put salsa on them? Just wonderin'...

That is a great great goofy photo of you and Shaun (the little on on the side bar). Is that also the handiwork of Amanda? Such a cool and useful talent.

Ah, yes, that Amanda is a woman of many cool and useful talents. She took the photo. Of course it takes some very good friends to elicit that kind of goofiness from us. Well--not always. Last night Shaun had an extended conversation with our cat.
